Acceptable Use Policy for the Rethink Recycling Logo

The SWMCB authorizes the use of the Rethink Recycling logo for the promotion of mixed municipal solid waste reduction, recycling, and the management of waste in a manner that is consistent with SWMCB policies and programs. These policies and programs are outlined in the SWMCB's Regional Solid Waste Management Master Plan.

Terms of Use and Logo Style Guide

Organizations Eligible to Use the Logo without Written Consent from the SWMCB Include:

• Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington Counties.
• Municipalities within Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington Counties.
• Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other Minnesota State Agencies.
• Metropolitan Council.
• SWMCB Community POWER Grantees may use the logo in conjunction with their SWMCB Community POWER projects.
• Non-profit environmental organizations whose mission is consistent with the SWMCB's waste reduction, recycling and waste  management policies and programs.
• Media: The media may use the logo for the purposes of reporting on the Rethink Recycling activities or in advertisements purchased by the SWMCB or its member organizations.
• Waste haulers doing business in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, or Washington Counties.

Organizations that Require Written Authorization Prior to the Use of the Logo Include:
For profit, commercial businesses, with the exception of mixed municipal solid waste haulers doing business in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, or Washington Counties, must receive prior written authorization from the SWMCB before using the Rethink Recycling logo, tagline or web site address.

The logo, tagline, or web site address may not be reproduced on products or items for sale, exchange, or barter without prior written authorization by the SWMCB.
